A new artist development programme for 18-25 year olds who have begun to develop a creative practice.

Art House is a 6-month programme open to individuals living, learning, or working in Milton Keynes. Emerging artists, sixth form/college students, school leavers, individuals not currently in education or employment, and home educated are all eligible to apply. Across a series of online and face to face sessions you’ll receive training designed to equip you with the skills to make and market your work, promote yourself as an artist and collaborate with others. There will also be the opportunity to receive practical guidance working as a freelancer and managing a project budget.

Working alongside your peers you will learn from industry experts, receive 1:1 mentoring support and create work in response to a live brief. We hope that you leave the programme confident, informed and networked.

Applicants must be aged 18-25 on the 31 March 2025.

  • If you are aged 18-25 on the 31 March 2025 and living learning or working in Milton Keynes, and developing an artistic practice you are eligible to apply. By artist, we mean any person who creates artwork as part of their education or career aspirations. Although this list is not exhaustive this could include:

    • Visual arts, craft and design

    • Digital and media

    • Photography

    • Literature

Applications are welcomed from all artists. We encourage those who feel they are underrepresented in creative or 'mainstream' arts spaces to apply.

  • Successful applicants will join the programme in October 2024 taking part in:

    • 3 - 4 sessions with Offset Projects between October 2024 - April 2025

    • Monthly training sessions / 1 per month October 2024 - March 2025

    • Four mentoring sessions between December 2024 - March 2025

  • Mentors have been selected on their experience as an artist, and their knowledge of the arts sector more widely.

Each cohort member will be allocated a mentor who is most suited to their needs. They may or may not be working in the same discipline.

Mentoring sessions involve just the mentor and mentee and are arranged separately to all other sessions at a mutually convenient time. Sessions should be spread evenly across the 6 month programme and will mostly be held online.

Travel expenses may be used to visit your mentor for a face to face session if you choose to.

    • 6 x training sessions

    • 3 x sessions with Offset Projects

    • 4 x mentoring sessions

    • Snacks & drinks are provided at all face to face sessions

    • £75 travel expenses

    • £150 towards creating a new limited edition print

  • Art House is a 6 month programme.

Sessions will take place both online and in person. These will normally be scheduled for weekday evenings but you may be asked to attend a weekend session if necessary.

The programme will start with an Introductory Session on Thursday 17 October. A full schedule will be provided to all successful applicants at least two weeks ahead of this date.

All face to face sessions will take place in Central Milton Keynes.

Mentoring sessions will take place online (unless you decide to visit your mentor in person) at a mutually agreeable time.

  • Please click on the application link below. This will take you through to a form which asks you questions about you and your practice. Please ensure that you complete this in full. Applications with missing or incomplete information will not be considered.

  • The final deadline to apply is midnight on Monday 30 September.

Please note that spaces will be allocated to successful applicants on a rolling basis. We therefore encourage you to submit your application as soon as you are ready to do so.

You will be emailed with the outcome of your application within three weeks. You may be placed on a waiting list if all spaces have been allocated.
