Tara has over 15 years’ experience in educational settings responding to the needs and aspirations of children and young people.

After graduating in Fine Art, Tara developed an artistic practice designing playful, participatory projects for children and young people. She went on to train as a teacher, teaching in primary schools in Cambridge and Milton Keynes, before becoming Learning Manager at MK Gallery.

She has project-managed a range of cultural projects and events working with children, families and schools. Examples include: MK Young Dancer (2019, MK Gallery, New Adventures dance company, Milton Keynes Theatre and MÓTUS); Placemaking: what does this mean for children? (2018, MAKE); and Unfinished Business (2011, HARK!).

She has previously been a trustee at MK Gallery, a steering group member for the Milton Keynes European Capital of Culture 2023 bid, and a visual arts assessor for Arts Gateway MK. Tara is a member of Clore Leadership alumni and was previously Vice Chair of Governors for Boulevard Primary Partnership.
